For the upcoming season, you will be seeing some new NHL scoreboards hanging above center ices. Here is a look at the new modern marvels.
Toronto Maple Leafs - Air Canada Center
So far this is the board we know the most about. It is the only board completed at the moment that we know of and it is even featured in the upcoming EA Sports NHL game, NHL 16. Inside the board is a giant 3D Maple Leaf which will light up blue for hockey games and red for basketball games. The main video screens will measure roughly 32 feet by 18 feet. The old scoreboard has been shipped to Ricoh Coliseum to be used for their AHL farm team, the Marlies.
Winnipeg Jets - MTS Centre
This scoreboard is quite a set up from their previous board, and is already nearing completion. Inside the big board is a giant 3D version of their primary logo which we assume will be lit up. While we do not know the exact specifications for this board, it is billed as being several times large than the video screens on the old board.
Anaheim Ducks - Honda Center
This scoreboard is still somewhat of a mystery to us as the team is not releasing any drawings of what the finished board will look like. What we do know is that the main video screens on the two long sides are expected to be roughly 30 feet by 20 feet, with smaller boards on the 2 ends. This board is still under construction.
