Little Caesars Arena in Detroit: Obviously this is the biggest construction project going on. The arena is set to open in just under 3 months. This summer they are working on finishing up the concourses and suites, as well as installing the 44 foot scoreboard and other LED boards. The arena's first event will be a Kid Rock concert.
Scottrade Center in St. Louis: Next to building a new arena, the home of the Blues is under about as large of a construction project you can ask for. This summer is year one of a 3 year renovation process. Currently the rink floor has been ripped out and a new ice plant will soon be installed. The center hung scoreboard has already been removed as well as the ribbon board and sound system, all of which will be replaced later this summer. Many seats on one end have been removed to make way for a new theater box seating area. Before the summer is up, the building will also get a brand new sports lighting system. The building will re-open early September.
Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg: Formerly known as MTS Centre, the home of the Jets will have a brand new name and new Reazzo floors in the concourses. It also appears that some walls and other elements of the concourses are seeing some upgrades but at the moment we do not have any official word on that.
We will have more updates soon on arena construction as well as some new scoreboard graphics for both Detroit and St. Louis.
