For nearly a year, reports suggested that TD Ameritrade would take over naming rights for Scottrade once they closed on their purchase of the rival stock trading brokerage. Today that deal closed and TD quietly announced that they would not have any interest in the naming rights, and would be selling them back.
So this leaves the Blues looking for new sponsorship for the front of their building. While no change in arena name is currently expected until 2018, we decided to come up with some realistic possibilities. Our friends on Twitter have helped us out with some suggestions.
Since National Car Rental was ready to put their name on the new Rams stadium, had they not moved, it seems obvious that the company is interested in getting their name on a local sports venue. Why not National Car Rental Center you ask? Well it would not be out of the question, but it might get a bit confusing since that was once the name of the Florida Panthers arena.
Of course, their 'parent company' could also be interested in putting their name on the building. It would certainly sound better.
Edward Jones recently pulled out of their deal with the Dome at America's Center because of the loss of the primary team, NFL's Rams. Perhaps they would like to move over to the NHL.
