The Carolina Hurricanes are currently planning some upgrades for their North Carolina home. New team owner Tom Dundon is already planning a 7 million dollar center hung scoreboard that will stretch the length of the neutral zone. The current scoreboard in PNC Arena was built in 2009 and now has the third smallest video screens in the NHL. The proposed upgrade would increase the size of the main screens from 17 feet wide to nearly 50 feet wide.
The budget called for the new scoreboard purchase to take place in time for the 2019/2020 season, but Dundon plans to move that up so his team's fans can have a new video board in place by next season.
We will post more info as it becomes available.
